With the recent announcement of our new mobile tagging and mobile-optimized site capabilities, we thought we should explain the importance of mobile optimized sites and better yet show you an example so you can experience the advantage first hand. Let us first explain the differences between mobile sites versus desktop based sites accessed via a mobile device.

We’ve done a lot of talking about mobile tagging and other marketing tools and we’ve briefly touched on the true importance, tracking and data. I want to stress how mobile tagging and QR codes are not just some flashy technology to engage consumer. While they are that, keep in mind that largely, QR codes provide higher level of convenience to consumers; they make life easier or offer something to make life better. They are the vehicle that get the user to the desired destination in an easier way.

Smartphones are changing the face of information sharing and acquisition among consumers. A study done by Nielsen on smartphone penetration in the U.S. performed over the last year, shows that it is on the rise among ALL ages across the board over the last year. This study also suggests that smart phone penetration wont be slowing down anytime soon.

The “QR” in QR Code stands for “Quick Response”. And this is the beauty behind these little barcodes; they enable one to take a printed piece of any kind and quickly be routed to a website, landing page, mobile app or a Youtube video. No more hand writing links to visit later or manually typing them on your phone, just a simple and quick scan away from digital media.

Many years ago I remember sitting through a leadership conference and the confident speaker finished his bold lecture by saying, “in your life you will either lead or follow, and if not, get the #@&* out of the way”. I have never forgotten that fact and have always asked myself that same question throughout my own career to “correct my position” as it where, to make sure I was on course. To be upfront with you, that is the same question we asked ourselves here at Precision in order to perform our own course correction.
