The Importance Of Mobile Optimized Sites For Mobile Tagging

With the recent announcement of our new mobile tagging and mobile-optimized site capabilities, we thought we should explain the importance of mobile optimized sites and better yet show you an example so you can experience the advantage first hand. Let us first explain the differences between mobile sites versus desktop based sites accessed via a mobile device.
For starters, for those of you who don’t know, mobile tagging is named as such because it is based on the use of mobile devices so why would you lead someone to scan your QR-Code towards anything but a mobile friendly site? If you’ve ever browsed the internet on your smartphone, you know the difference between a mobile-optimized site vs. a desktop based site as viewed on your mobile phone's small screen. When using a desktop site on a mobile device, the look and feel is typically pretty bad. You constantly have to be zooming in to be able to read the content. However, by zooming in you simultaneously lose the ability to view the entire screen, as it would appear on your desktop, which then means you have to scroll back and forth to view the site completely. It’s like wearing pants that are too big and too small all at the same time. Navigation and usability also suffer greatly when using a desktop site on a mobile device. Tiny buttons and links almost ensure that your intended button is not the one you end up clicking. Even the smallest of hands are presented with a challenge in navigating through content. The last thing you want to do is or provide a challenge or a distraction to an already willing and able consumer.
If you do not have quick response (QR) code reading software, please visit your app store on your mobile phone and download one for free. Precision Mobile prefers i-Nigma and Scan. If you do not have a smartphone, click here to see this mobile optimized site, although it will not display the same way it would on your phone. We want to show you why our QR code experience is different than most others, we promise... wont let you down. The QR code you see to above is one example that we have created. It is the QR code we placed on the business card of our Vice President of Operations. (And please keep in mind that the digital business card is only one application for Precision Mobile technologies and we do realize that a website is not the usual or best vehicle for delivering a QR code, we just wanted to show you an example). We want you to notice how it fits the screen appropriately, no pinching or pulling necessary. Look at the buttons, so easy to click with your fingers, on the first try. Navigation works like a charm. It’s almost as if we created this page especially for your mobile device... becasue we did...
